About Our Caps
The baseball cap is a soft cap sewn in sections, generally five or six, with a stiff visor on the front of the cap. The back of the cap usually has a closure, consisting of, but not limited to Velcro, a buckle, or slider. Some caps are form fitting and do not have the closure or opening at the back.
Parts of a Cap
- Crown - The portion of the cap that sits on top of the head and extends down all sides of the head.
- Upper Visor - The top part of the visor, also known as the bill.
- Under Visor - The lower or underside of the visor.
- Closure - The fabric closure on the back of the cap. Annie Sumang offers Velcro, self-strap with buckle, and self-strap with metal slider (special order).
- Sweatband - The band of fabric found on the inside of the cap. It absorbs moisture and cools the head.
- Unconstructed Cap - Cap with a soft crown, without the semi-rigid lining in the front panels. These caps have a more relaxed and casual look.*
- Constructed Cap - Caps with crowns that have a semi-rigid lining in the front of the crown. The lining gives more structure to the front of the cap.*
*Annie Sumang caps are manufactured as unconstructed caps; however, constructed caps are available by special order.
