Sun Protection
Today everyone is becoming more aware of the dangers of sun exposure. The medical profession has long advised the public to cover up and avoid prolonged sun exposure. Protecting the face is critical, especially for children, as the summer months approach and outdoor activities increase.
Annie Sumang caps and visors provide protection for the face for all outdoor activities.
The World Health Organization has guidelines for precautions when out in the sun. They are as follows:
- Limit your exposure to the sun during the midday (between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.)
- Watch for the UVI index. The UVI (Ultra Violet Index) measures the ultra violet radiation levels. The higher the UVI, the greater the potential for damage to the skin and eyes.
- Wear protective clothing while out in the sun, including sunglasses.
- Use sunscreen with at least an SPF of 15 or above and reapply every two hours, or after swimming, playing, working, or exercising outdoors.
